A person riding a motorcycle died in a landslide near Siddhababa temple in Palpa's Dobhan rural municipality-3. After falling in the landslide, the husband and wife were riding a motorcycle and both of them were scattered and reached the Tinau River.
Janak Bhandari, resident of Palpa Rampur Municipality-6 Talpokhara, died on the motorcycle number 51 P 6633, which was going from Butwal to Palpa at around 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening. His wife Kalpana Chapagai, who was sitting behind the motorcycle, was injured, according to Provincial Traffic Police Office Butbal.
The landslide hit the driver of the motorcycle and the driver jumped 29 meters and reached the bank of Tinau. The police said that the injured died while being rescued and taken to the hospital.
Kalpana, who was injured in the landslide, is being treated at Lumbini Provincial Hospital and his condition is normal, said Rum KC, head of police station Dobhan.
