Hemant Acharya has been elected as the Chairman of Bardia National Park Intermediate Zone Management Committee.

In the election held on Friday, Acharya got 11 out of 19 votes and was elected as the president.


His opponent Chandrakala Budha got 6 votes and Meen Bahadur South got 2 votes. Acharya has been working as the president of the Poaching Control Youth Movement and as a nature guide for a long time.


Under Bardia Park, the area of ​​504 square km is in the intermediate zone. There are 148 intermediate community forests. Among them, 235 in 240 groups are from Bardia, 4 from Surkhet and 1 from Banke.


Acharya's father served two terms as the president of the intermediate region. He died in an elephant attack on October 26, 2067. Even though Hemant's father was killed by an elephant, he is involved in the protection of wildlife.
