District Court Bardia has sentenced the accused who raped the girl to 18 years imprisonment. 20-year-old Vikas Tharu of Barbardia Municipality-2 was sentenced by a single bench of District Court Judge Dalluram Chaudhary.
Court information officer Amrita KC said that Tharu was found guilty of raping a minor with a fine of 700,000 rupees, compensation of 50,000 rupees and 28,000 rupees to be deposited in the relief fund with 18 years imprisonment.
On 18th of February 2080, Tharu was arrested by the police on 20th of February after reporting that he had been raped.
