On the occasion of National Tree Plantation Day 2082, a large-scale tree planting program has been conducted at Raptisonari-9, Dhakeri Jhijhari Mahila Community Forest of Banke.
Rupa Vick, Minister of State for Forests and Environment of the Government of Nepal, inaugurated the plantation by planting saplings on Saturday. She said that tree planting is not only for tree planting but it is important to contribute to the upliftment of the community through tree planting.
'Our water sources are drying up. Climate change is having a negative impact on the agriculture and health of poor tribal women. Tree plantation is also necessary to reduce it, she said.
Forest and Environment Minister of Lambini State Government, Devkaran Prasad Kalwar Santu presided over the event, environmental engineers, members of Community Forest Consumer Group all attended and planted trees collectively.
Minister Kalwar said that all the local levels should run a campaign for tree plantation in vacant and barren land. "Farmers should plant private forests, the local government should fence vacant land and plant trees, friends of the community forest should cut down trees and plant trees in vacant areas," he said. This can benefit the community.'
Division Forest Office Banke organized the program, 6.36 hectares of trees have been planted. In which the perimeter of the plantation area is 1,138 meters. 8 thousand saplings are going to be planted.

Every year, the Nepalese government presents zero Shankar Prasad Gupta, Head of Division Forest Office Banke, said that the government has taken forward the tree plantation campaign as a major campaign to implement the big goal of carbon emission.
