Two locals died when a tractor slipped and fell into a pond in Kapilvastu Municipality-8, West Dohni.
22-year-old Durgavati Kori and 45-year-old Durgavati Kori of West Belhawa, who were going to plant on a tractor at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday morning, slipped and fell into the pond and died when the tractor crushed them, Ward President Shivkumar Pandey informed.
The tractor slipped and fell into the pond while passing through the road of the pond made with new soil by the rain that fell at night.
There were 6 people riding in the tractor including the driver . Among them, 4 others are safe, police said. The driver is absconding.
Both women who were in unconscious condition were brought to the district hospital located in the headquarter Taulihwa, but they died at around 12:30 pm during the treatment, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohanmani Adhikari informed.
The police said that the number could not be revealed because the tractor was submerged in the pond.
