The operation of large and heavy vehicles has been banned under the Dumkiwas Daunne section under the East-West Highway.
The road department and the administration have taken this decision after the problem of road slippage and vehicles getting stuck in the diversion section.
The Chief District Officer of East Nawalparasi, Bhavishwar Pandey, said that the diversion road of Vinayi Khola bridge at Dumkiwas on the Narayanghat-Butwal road under construction is frequently washed away by rains, so the operation of goods vehicles has been stopped until the new bridge is operational.
Road repair work is being done by placing gravel in some places of the lower section. The project has issued a notice that all types of vehicles have been banned from seven in the evening to five in the morning on this road section. The administration has requested to use alternative roads.
