Cervical and breast cancer screening camp for women and girls has started in Tilottama municipality of Rupandehi. Cervical and breast cancer screening camp was started from Semrabazar health post on Monday.

The camp will be conducted in 9 different health institutions of the city. Gyan Prasad Paudel, head of the municipality's health branch, informed that 184 people took the service on the first day of the camp and 14 people reported positive. He said that 3 people had the problem of blood loss. They have been sent to Lumbini Regional Hospital for further tests, he said. Inaugurating the

camp, Mayor Ramakrishna Khan said that the municipality had organized this program by allocating budget annually with the aim that no woman in Tilottama should have to die from breast and uterine cancer. Mayor Khan said that 24 nurses in the city have been trained to provide counseling on the symptoms of cancer, treatment methods and where to go if there is a problem, and now free check-up services will be provided regularly at every health post. In the

program, Deputy Mayor Jageshwar Devi Choudhary complained that the municipality has conducted camps for breast cancer and cervical cancer in the past years and even now, women are not interested in it. She said that care should be taken in this regard as the problem will worsen and a large amount of money will be spent when dealing with the disease.

Narayan Aryal, chief administrative officer of the municipality, said that this program has been prioritized to keep the citizens healthy. He said that such camps will help women and sisters in the city to increase their interest in health.
