'Bhume', the main festival of the Kham Magar castes, is being celebrated with grandeur today in Rukum East. Especially the residents of Bhume and Puthauttarganga rural municipalities, which have a large number of Magars, are going to celebrate this festival by performing ball puja.
Puniraj Gharti said that according to the tradition here, in the upper part of Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality (Hukam-Maikot and nearby), Nogobange is blown in mid-March and Balpuja is celebrated in Baisakh. In the lower part of the municipality (Taksera and Aspas) there is a custom of blowing Nogobange in the middle of May and picking buki from the lake and going down to the village today to perform Balpuja.

Similarly, this festival is being celebrated with grandeur today in Bhume Rural Municipality. Municipal Chairman Hom Prasad Shrestha said that Bhume, which started by blowing Nogobange on Vaishakhe Purnima, was celebrated with grandeur by performing Bhume puja in some places yesterday and today in the rest of the places.
'Bhume puja is performed especially today in Lugum. And on the 3rd, 5th or 7th of this month, it is concluded by dancing Bhume. Lumbini state government has given public holiday in Rolpa, Pyuthan and Dang.
