Goumukhi became 'Zero Home Delivery Municipality'

Gaumukhi Village Municipality has been declared as 'Zero Home Delivery' municipality. This announcement was made because all the pregnant women came to the health institution and gave birth.

Within the last three financial years, all the pregnant women in the rural municipality came to the health institution and gave birth.

In the financial year 2079/080, there were 334 pregnant women in Gaumukhi. In 2080/081, 282 and 295 pregnant women in 081/082 received maternity services from health institutions, informed Hariprasad Jaisi, head of the village health branch. Chief Jaisi said that in 081/082, 68 people took maternity services outside of local health institutions. 

In 2079/080, 10 and in 2080/081, 3 pregnant women gave birth at home. 

The rural municipality has been declared as a municipality with full institutional maternity services, with the number of people meeting the standards including 4 pregnancy tests and three delivery tests in the rural municipality reaching more than 95 percent.

Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Dhanlakshmi Shrestha, Dharam Bahadur GC, head of District Coordination Committee Pyuthan, and others participated in the program held at the village hall on Saturday.
