A fire broke out at Annapurna Poultry Farm located in Bardghat Municipality-14 Gangabasti of West Nawalparasi. 5 thousand 700 chickens in the farm were burnt to death due to the fire that took place on Wednesday night, DSP Veer Dutt Pant of District Police Office West Nawalparasi said.

During the fire, 4,500 small chicks of the parent species and 1,200 large chicks of the layer chicks were burnt to death. The police said that it is believed that the fire was caused by an electrical short.

The fire was brought under control with the help of the fire brigade of Bardghat municipality and local residents, according to the police. The physical structure of the firm has also been damaged by the fire.
