A man has been arrested after 14 years of absconding after killing his own nephew in a dispute over share. The District Police Office has arrested 57-year-old Santa Bahadur Sarki of Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-1, Chidipani on the charge of killing his nephew.
Sarki killed his own brother's 18-year-old Narveer Nepali (Sarki) on the night of Kartik 11, 2068 and escaped. He was arrested from Belhia Bus Park Bhairawa based on information that he was on the fugitive list since 2068 and was returning to Nepal after a long time, informed DSP Sunil Malla, Information Officer of District Police Office Palpa.
Police said that they received information that Sant Bahadur used to come to Nepal from time to time and based on that information, they were able to arrest him. On Monday, the district court extended the investigation by 6 days, said Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai.
According to section 177 of the Criminal Code, 2074, Santa Bahadur has been further investigated by District Court Palpa in accordance with section 14 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code, 2074.
