Yarchagumba herb found in Rimigha Lake forest area of Palpa has been confirmed. National Forensic Science Laboratory Khumaltar, Lalitpur confirmed on Sunday that the herb found in Rimigha Lake in Rambha Rural Municipality-2 Foxingkot and Ward 3 Pipaldanda area is Yarchagumba.
Rambha Rural Municipality and Division Forest Office had assigned staff for the verification of Yarcha. As part of the Prime Minister's Employment Program, after cleaning the bushes in Rimigha Lake and preparing to plant orange trees in the community forest area, a species similar to Yarchagumba was found while digging a hole. Rambha Rural Municipality President Bishnu Prasad Bhandari said that forensic laboratory was sent for testing.
After the report of the laboratory, the head of the district coordination committee, Tankanath Khanal, village head Bhandari, vice-chairman Radha Kumari Shrestha, acting chief administrative officer Postraj Neupane, head of the division forest, Narayandev Bhattarai, held a meeting of the district security committee and prohibited the entry of the general public in the area where the herb was found.
Chief District Officer Toynarayan Subedi informed that the meeting of the security committee has prohibited the entry of the general public to the Rimigha Lake area for a few more days in order to organize the collection, sale and distribution of herbs. "The herb found in Rimigha Lake has been proven to be Yarcha," said Prazia Subedi, "but it is not certain what nature it is, and how much its medicinal value is." Prazia Subedi said that the meeting ended with the division forest office Palpa organizing the collection work in coordination with the division forest and rural municipality of the district with prevailing legal system. More security personnel will be deployed in that area. In Rambha Rural Municipality-3, Peepaldanda, where Yarcha was found, as well as in Rimigha forest area of Phoksingkot of 2, the ban on entry of the general public until June 29 has been maintained.
According to the Division Forest Office, action will be taken according to prevailing laws if found to have entered the forest area in violation of public information. Divisional Forest Chief Bhattarai said that the forest area will be sealed for some time now while organizing the work. "The security system will be tightened keeping in mind the possibility of chaos until the work is organized," he said, "Later, after opening the forest, the revenue of the locals will be increased by establishing a legal system, collecting, distributing and collecting royalties." Divisional Forest Chief Bhattarai said that it is prohibited under Section 9 of the Forest Act, 2076, and if this order is violated, it will be an offense under Section 49 (th) of the Forest Act, 2076. In a meeting involving the head of coordination as well as the officials of the rural municipality, the search and investigation will be carried out in coordination with other municipalities as it is possible to find other high lakes like Rimigha Lake.
