The office of the District Sports Development Committee, Gulmi, has a surprising scene. When entering the office, a banner is hung that says Information Officer Office Chief Dilli Bick. After that, when going inside, the name plate is placed as President Giri Prasad Mahakim.

While the head of the office, Bik, was transferred in February 2080, the committee chaired by the Chief Minister was dissolved last December.

Currently, the District Sports Development Committee Gulmi office is running on the support of the assistant. Office head, account officer, computer operator, coach of various sports and office assistant, but currently only office assistant Kale Khatri is in the office.

In the absence of staff in the office, the district-level President's Running Shield, which is being operated in the district, is also functioning well. Although last year the development committee and this year Lumbini Sports Council member and former chairman of the development committee Mahesh Kaoja led the competition. However, lack of budget, management and operations are causing problems.

During the running of the Running Shield competition, the debt is increasing every year. Last year 3.5 lakh rupees and this year also around the same loan has been added. To complete a competition, being frugal, about 9 lakh rupees are spent. In the competition, there are expenses for awards, trophies, medals, judges, coaches, preparation, sound system, formal programs and transportation. According to the office, the amount coming from the province and the income from the rent of the shutters of the office are not enough and go to the loan.

The then chairman of the District Sports Development Committee, Giriprasad Mahakim, who was disbanded last December, said that he had to suffer because there were no qualified staff and no coaches for any sport. "Despite repeated defeats, the state does nothing," he said, "Sports development is only in name, there is nothing related to sports here."

General Secretary Narayan Acharya of District Volleyball Association Gulmi said that it is sad that there is no development committee and staff to bring out the overall development of the sports field, identify players and bring out talent. "If there was a committee, the game would have been easier and the players would have had an opportunity," he said, "Players' talents have been deprived from coming out." Only the district level competition of Shield is held. Apart from that, no work has been done in the field of sports through the office.

office assistant Kale Khatri (Lal Bahadur Jisi) said that he has been the only employee for 16 months and although there is no committee since last December, he is alone. "I have been in this office for 20 years, now I am the only one," he said.

Lumbini Sports Council member Mahesh Kaoja said that it is very sad that there is no development committee or staff in the office. Who will tell this grief? "No one listens to the pain," he said, "Development committee formation and staff arrangement should be done soon."
