A joint meeting of road construction stakeholders has been held in Daunne to remove the traffic jam in Daunne along the East-West Mahendra highway. The meeting has instructed the contractor company to do fast work to facilitate highway movement by placing gravel in the valley by the end of May.

The contractor company has agreed to show diligence in the construction of the highway access road leading to the inner settlements of the highway.

Dumkibas under Bardghat road section under Mahendra Highway has been instructed to deploy large machines and technical manpower around the clock in the 14 km section. With the onset of the rainy season, there was also a discussion on the arrangement of heavy equipment to help restore the highway, and to work 24 hours a day to end the situation in which the road is jammed for hours every day.
