The farmers of West Nawalparasi and Pratappur rural municipality have demanded to ensure the budget immediately, saying that the government has not allocated subsidy for sugarcane farmers in the budget. Farmers are waiting for subsidy, but the budget has not addressed it, and it has been demanded to ensure the amount immediately.

President of Pratappur Rural Municipality and Chairman of Sugarcane Farmers' Committee Lumbini Province, Umesh Chandra Yadav has issued a statement and demanded that the amount of subsidy received by the farmers be arranged immediately.  "Every year in the budget statement, the source of subsidy was ensured," President Yadav said. The demand of the farmers should be met until the budget is passed by the House.

Farmers complain that the government should encourage sugarcane cultivation, which is decreasing every year. 585 rupees for the industrialist. The price was set at Rs 655 per quintal by subsidizing Rs 70 per quintal and the government.
