Makot is difficult to reach as there is no bridge over the river

As there is no bridge on the Batwa river, it is difficult to reach Makot, a tourist village in the east of Rukum. Although the road track has been opened up to Macot, the last point of Shaheed Marg, i.e. the zero point, when there is heavy rain, vehicles often cross through the river.

You have to leave the central hilly road and travel about 55 kilometers on a dirt road to reach Puthauttarganga rural municipality-1 Makot village. Macot village found after Hukam is a village that has become famous recently. Because of that, the number of people visiting here has increased. But local Birendra Budha said that there is a problem because there is no bridge in the river.

Sahid Marg Planning Office Rolpa Liwang is working up to Puthauttarganga-5, but before that, the rural municipality opened the track up to Macot and now the road is being upgraded through the Local Infrastructure Development Office, Butwal, said the Ward President of Puthauttarganga-1 Veerman Vick.

'We have heard that the bailey bridge has fallen for next year, but we don't know for sure. It is difficult to move here until a bridge is built," said the ward president Vick. And it will be difficult to pull the vehicle.'

Although the vehicles are currently reaching Makot, the locals said that it will not be possible as it has started raining. They say that if the vehicles do not reach Makot, it will be difficult to supply daily necessities and essential materials.

The total length of 220 km Shahid Marg currently starts from Ghorahi and reaches Makot in East Rukum via Rolpa. In Rukum east, under this route, which is 75 km long, gravel and tarmac have been laid in some areas of Rolpa, but only tracks have been opened in most places.
