Last year during the rainy season, the Tinau river burst in the Lalpati area of Bagnasali and Mathagadi Rural Municipality Rajesh Kumar Aryal, Ward President of Tansen Municipality-9, said that the farmers of Madifant had suffered a lot. According to Aryal, the Tinau river and Tansen river have entered the farmers' paddy field every year and caused great damage. The river enters the areas of Budhuwa, Amlihan, Tansen river, Tinau river and other areas of Madi district. Every year, more than 4,000 seedlings of paddy fields in Tansen municipality, Bagnaskali, Mathagadi area are flooded in Madiphant area. "The problem of flooding from the upper part of the river and flooding occurs every year," Ward President Aryal said.
This year, the Lumbini state government has allocated 2.5 million budget and has advanced the work in Lalpati area of Tinau River. But if the contract is not managed in time, the farmers have said that the risk of flooding remains this year as well. According to them, there is still delay in the work. Farmers complain that even if gravel sand is taken out in the Ukas area, there is a problem of being washed away and flooded. Locals said that the fields are getting flooded every year after the landslides in the Tinau river area.
Ward President Tej Bahadur Gharti said that the Mathagadhi Rural Municipality has distributed relief at the rate of 1,500 per plant for the farmers who have been affected by floods in Lalpati area of Tinau River. He said that 64 farmers of Mathagadhi rural municipality-3 and Tansen municipality-9 who have farms in Kaseni were distributed.
Bagnaskali Rural Municipality distributed 5000 to 15000 per farmer Khim Prasad Koirala said. According to him, 8 people from Bagnas were given relief from the disaster management fund according to the decision of the executive.
