The Congress has collected signatures and submitted it to the municipality demanding the withdrawal of the decision to increase the property and commercial tax increased by the Ghorahi sub-metropolitan municipality in the current financial year.

Chairman of Congress Ghorahi Tilak Rawat said that 6,500 signatures of citizens from 19 wards have been collected and submitted to the municipality to draw the attention of the local municipality to the increase in revenue.

Deputy Mayor Huma Kumari DC said that this decision was taken to increase internal resources as the internal resources of the sub-metropolitan municipality are decreasing.  sub-metropolitan had set a target of raising 35 crores revenue in the last financial year and has set a target of raising 55 crores revenue in the current financial year.
