Palpa's Ribdikot Rural Municipality has provided subsidy to 282 cattle rearing farmers. Farmers rearing bulls have received Rs 2,500 per farmer for the purchase of fodder.
Narayan Bahadur Karki, chairman of the rural municipality, informed that a subsidy of Rs. Chairman Karki mentioned that the rural municipality has been encouraging farmers to rear bulls while reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and also to encourage cattle and cow dung.
Chief Administrative Officer Mani Prasad Khanal said that after reaching each ward and collecting the data of farmers, subsidies were given to those who were rearing and those who purchased new ones. "We managed the policies and programs and the budget," he said while announcing the details in the public hearing program, "we have encouraged them accordingly." Even though the rural municipality started the program in the current financial year, the incentive money was already provided to the farmers of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-1, Khyaha who reared bulls and bought new ones. Ward president Chiranjeevi Pokharel informed that 29 cattle rearing farmers were distributed cash at the rate of 2500 and 5000 rupees through the program of the ward.
Village Vice President Kanta Adhikari said that the arrangement of subsidy for farmers who are rearing bulls and buying new bulls to increase their income from the agricultural sector has gained more strength. "Recently, the practice of rearing bulls, buffaloes, cows etc. is decreasing," she said, "It is found that the farmers are happy with this incentive." It is said that the people living in the village get the most income from agriculture.
