2 socket bombs were found abandoned in a school complex near Dawan in Rolpa. The police said that a very old looking socket bomb was found in the Bhagwati Mavi area of Triveni Rural Municipality-2 Nuwagaon.
According to the police, the bomb was found while digging the foundation for a new building for the school at 1:50 p.m. on Monday and was disposed of by the army team on Tuesday afternoon. After the incident, a police team arrived from the Nuwagaon police station and from the area police office at Holleri. The disposal team of the Nepali Army deployed from Suryadal Gana in Liwang has disposed of both the bombs. The army deployed a team under the leadership of soldier Shankar Thapa to dispose of the bomb. It took the army and police a day to investigate and dispose of the bomb.
District Police Office Information Officer Police Inspector Vijay Chapagai said that those socket bombs may have been placed during the peace process in Dahawan. At that time, Dawan was the headquarters of the fifth division of the Maoist fighters. After the adjustment of the fighters, there was also a Gulm of the Nepali Army at that place. The school where the bomb was found is near Dahawan.
