Satyavati Rural Municipality of Gulmi has brought into operation an agricultural ambulance with moisture facility. An agricultural ambulance with moisture facility has been brought into operation for easy marketing of agricultural produce and animal products produced in the village.

In the financial year 2080/081, an agricultural ambulance was purchased in partnership with the federal government and the local government at a cost of 34 lakh rupees, said Tikaram Pandey, chairman of the rural municipality.

In the financial year 2079/080, for the purchase of agricultural ambulances, Pandey said that although funds were received for the purchase of two ambulances, they were not able to purchase the ambulances. He said that after the funds came towards the end of 2080/081, an ambulance was purchased in partnership. President Pandey said that although the ambulance arrived last October, it was put into operation only recently when the management process was arranged.

Satyavati rural municipality is currently marketing the farmers' produce in Butwal. Thaple Satyavati Agricultural Market Committee and sub-committee have been formed at the municipal level for the smooth management of ambulances.

This ambulance with a convenient moisture has a capacity of 15 quintals. Nar Bahadur Pulami, chairman of Thaple Satyawati Krishi Bazar Samiti, said that it is managed to run the ambulance by determining the price and buying and marketing the farmers' produce.

In Satyavati, 900 farmers in 60 groups and 1000 farmers individually are active in commercial agriculture. Along with agricultural produce, farmers have been earning from vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, eggs and dairy products. Last year alone, more than 100 tons of produced goods were delivered to the market by Satyavati.

Pandey, the chairman of the rural municipality, said that a committee has been formed to sustain the operation of the ambulance with the facility to deliver the farmers' produce to the market. "It is our new practice, farmers are getting a lot of relief with marketing," he said, "we will always continue to run it and encourage farmers."
