Policy program of Lumbini: Prioritize agriculture and tourism, continuation of the old

Lumbini state government has announced policies and programs by prioritizing agriculture, tourism and irrigation. The government has promoted programs ranging from utilization of barren land to contract farming.

203 programs have been launched with slogans such as 'Increasing productivity in agriculture, prosperity of Lumbini province', agricultural technical services and expert services at farmers' homes, always green and at their doorsteps. 

State President Krishna Bahadur Gharti Magar presented the government's policy program for the coming fiscal year 2082/083 on Monday at the State Assembly Building Deukhuri. The government is going to develop the capital region as a model Virginia capital among all provinces.

The government has given high priority to the plan to develop Deukhuri Valley as a model capital by putting it in the first list of pride projects. It is mentioned to manage the necessary resources for the construction of a modern capital in the Deukhuri Valley, Virginia, which is connected to the river civilization. The government has put forward a policy of giving priority to the provincial project bank, the completion of provincial pride projects, and the construction of unfinished projects.

The government has also introduced a policy to include the use of indigenous goods and products, entrepreneurship, promotion, employment opportunities, social security programs and funds. The government has taken a policy of increasing the scope of revenue and balancing the medium-term expenditure structure and budget.

The government has put forward a plan to increase the role of the state government in the Lumbini region by forming the Lumbini Development Authority, prioritizing the construction of unfinished projects. The government has also put forward a plan to build a reservoir in Gulmi's Ridi. The government is going to give priority to the balanced development of all the 12 districts of the state, but with distinct characteristics. The government has also put forward the concept of one district, one model settlement, the concept of a project bank, reviewing the past through the budget to complete incomplete projects, and making guidelines for creating budgets based on reality, large infrastructure projects in interprovincial coordination, and the concept of building a new city in Rampur-Chapakot.

Similarly, emphasis on the implementation of the master plan of the provincial capital region,  The government has also put forward policies such as strengthening the provincial government in the areas of physical infrastructure and human development, road infrastructure with greenery, the basis of urban beauty, the use of native wood in government offices, etc. The government has also introduced the slogan of citizen's contribution, one day of labor in a month. It is mentioned that the citizen's responsibility will be added to the development.

Rapti Provincial Hospital has been upgraded and expanded to 200 beds, and the government has also put forward a policy to effectively implement the Lumbini Province Mental Health and Psychosocial Treatment Strategy 2081-2086. The government has mentioned that yoga, meditation, positive thinking development and social counseling programs will be given priority for mental health from next year. 2 lakh per person will be supported for the treatment of heart valve and cancer diseases. The government is also going to support the eyeball transplant. The government has also given priority to the health and nutrition of women and children.

The government has also prioritized coordination, cooperation and partnership between the three levels of government. Programs such as preparing legal, institutional and manpower bases to institutionalize the provincial government, extensive reforms in terms of good governance and service flow, citizen-friendly administration and good governance, use of technology, youth-targeted programs, and mobile services of the provincial government have also been put forward. It is mentioned that the government will organize the registration and renewal of media of the province in the province by emphasizing the special program focused on the targeted class and the cooperation with media persons.  

The Government of Lumbini Province has also put forward policies such as Bright Every Household in Lumbini Campaign, My School is My Responsibility Campaign, Reading, Learning, Earning and Skills with Education, State-run Medical College, Provision of free beds and treatment for poor citizens in hospitals, expansion of snakebite treatment services, taking health programs to school and community level as a campaign, establishing state civil library, making maximum use of information technology.
