Lumbini State Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya has said that the state government has given priority to planned development. Addressing the launch of the Dhankhola Deurali-Harre-Chakla motorway on Saturday, Chief Minister Acharya made it clear that the state government has made it a top priority to carry out development work in a planned manner.
He informed that the provincial road master plan has been prepared and investments will be made in the road sector based on the same priorities. ``Government does not invest in work that does not show results . We have started discouraging small and piecemeal projects,'' he said, ``We have adopted a policy of investing in small roads by the local government and completing them by the state government in major roads.''
According to Chief Minister Acharya, there are about 3,000 roads in Lumbini province. At present, the provincial government is planning to take care of 700 roads out of them.
Dhankhola Deurali-Harre-Chakla motor road has been prioritized as a major road and informed that initiatives are being taken with the federal government. He said that the road will be an easy way to connect the provincial capital and ensure access to citizens. Chief Minister Acharya emphasized that the infrastructure created by the government should be focused on raising the standard of living of citizens.
