For the first time in Bardia, the Rajapur Sugar Factory, which is under construction with a large investment, will start sugar production from November.

It has been reported that 90% of the sugar factory construction work has been completed in Rajapur Municipality-5 Badalpur of the district with an investment of 2.5 billion.

Rajapur Sugar and Chemicals Industries Pvt Ltd aims to produce 330,000 tons of sugar annually. Sugar production will be exported to Lumbini, Karnali and other provinces. 

General Manager of Sugar and Chemicals Industries Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Krishna Mahato said that 550 people are currently employed in the sugar industry. He said that he will hire more manpower as soon as the production starts from November. 

The sugar industry established on an area of ​​21 bighas will also produce alcoholic products. Farmers have started producing sugarcane in an area of ​​nearly 1,500 bighas in this area where rice is produced. 

Apart from this, sugarcane will be purchased here from Kailali. General Manager Mahato said that farmers will be subsidized to plant sugarcane on 5000 bighas for the sugar factory.
