Absconding defendant in duty killing case arrested after 19 years

Rupandehi police has arrested a defendant in the duty killing case after 19 years. According to the District Police Office Rupandehi, the police arrested 35-year-old Dasharath Kurmi, who lives in Marchwari rural municipality-6 Bagauli of Rupandehi.

Dasharath Kurmi is accused of murdering 35-year-old priest Kurmi of Mahadeva, former Silautia gavis-1, now Marchawari-4, on 28 August 2063 and absconding.

According to the police, the dead body of Pujari Kurmi was found in a rotting condition in a paddy field on August 31, 2063. The police claimed that the involvement of Dashrath and other people was seen during the investigation.

District Police Office Rupandehi Information Officer and DSP Suraj Karki said that based on confidential information, the police arrested Dashrath on the road while he was coming home from India to Nepal.
