A state-of-the-art chilling center with a capacity of 4,000 liters has been established in Panini Rural Municipality-3 Durgaphant to collect and market the milk produced in the village.

Farmers are happy after the center is operational in the building of Panini Dairy Cooperative located in Durgaphant, the center of the rural municipality. Since milk marketing is guaranteed, the rural municipality aims to double milk production in the village and make youth self-employed from next year.

Milk is produced in Panini's Durgaphant, Maidan, Dhatiwang, Patauti, Panina and Pokharathok. The milk here is exported to Palpa Tansen and Rupandehi Saljhandi. Milk is delivered to the market by wagon. Previously, different collection centers and customized milk were sent to the market by bus, but after the establishment of the chilling center, all the milk will be collected here and exported to the market, said Romnath Neupane, chief administrative officer of Panini Rural Municipality.

"An agreement has been reached with Bahadurganj Global Dairy Industry located in Kapilvastu, they will take whatever they produce," he said. Now there is no need to pay rent, it is collected at the center. This means that the farmers will not be stressed about not selling milk and will double the milk production in the next year with policies and programs, he said. He said that Panini is a place with good potential in milk production. He said that under the

milk marketing promotion program, the center was established in Durgaphant with the participation of 75 percent of Lumbini provincial government, 15 percent of Panini rural municipality and 10 percent of local farmers. An investment of about 27 lakh rupees has been made. Initially, the goal is to collect 2,000 liters of milk daily from the chilling center.

Ease in milk collection, processing, storage and marketing and local farmers will benefit. About 1.2 million liters of milk is produced annually from Panini Rural Municipality. It came into operation after the inauguration of the center at Durgaphant by Minister of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives of Lumbini Province, Dinesh Panthi.

Panthi said that one can earn a lot by rearing cattle in the village and selling milk instead of working abroad. "All three levels of the government will bring agriculture-friendly budget as an additional attraction in the coming year," he said. Provincial MP Ramjiprasad Ghimire said that Panini area is a rural municipality with good potential for agricultural enterprises. "Now there is a need for an agricultural revolution from village to village," he said. From this, you can earn more money than from foreign employment and other jobs, the educated youth should pay attention to this.

Panini rural municipality chairman Tekraj Neupane said that the farmers got the right price of milk and the market was guaranteed in cooperation with the farmers by conducting technical services, vaccination campaigns, breed improvement and subsidy programs based on milk production. He said that the dairy industry will expand at the local level, help increase the income of farmers and contribute to the economic development of the rural municipality.
