The 2569th Buddha Jayanti will be celebrated for 4 days in the ancient capital of the Shakya dynasty, Kapilvastu (Tilaurakot).

According to the information given in a press conference organized by the Buddha Jayanti Main Celebration Committee in Taulihawa, on 30th of Baisakh, the statue of 'Baby Buddha' will be taken around the city with a procession and taken to Tilaurakot for a 'maternity celebration'. Before that, there is a program to take a team to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, to take the statue of 'Baby Buddha' and enter the city along with Bajagaza, Buddha Jayanti Main Ceremony Committee Coordinator Gopikrishna Sharma said.

The statue of Baby Buddha will be taken to the ancient Rajprasad Tilaurakot with panchebaja and local instruments from Jamuwar Bridge, the entrance of the city. Likewise, blood donation will be done on 27th of Baisakh and a short play will be shown on the evening of 28th, commemorating Lord Buddha's stay at Nigrodharam during his first visit to Rajprasasad Tilaurakot . Similarly, 'Peace Meditation Walk' will be held in Tilaurakot on the evening of 29th Baisakh. He said that Nepali and Buddhist flags will be placed all over the main road of the market area to create an enlightened atmosphere.
