The Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chetnarayan Acharya, has said that the provincial government is moving forward by prioritizing the sector of innovation in order to bring about changes in the development model.
Addressing the orientation program on the brief presentation of the project program proposed by the local level and the full proposal writing under the innovation partnership program, Chief Minister Acharya said that it is necessary to link the development model to the field of innovation.
'The understanding that development is only physical infrastructure, roads and bridges is wrong. Now let's focus the investment on human development and increase local production,' he said. Expressing the opinion that economic development can be achieved by involving basic class citizens in the work of
production, he said that it is necessary to advance this as a campaign. In order to strengthen federalism, the three-level government should prioritize work in the field of innovation, he emphasized.
He said that the state government has started making policies and programs and budgets by prioritizing the agriculture and production sectors. "We have always made a deficit budget for the sake of cheap popularity, but now we bring a budget based on the real ground to raise hope," he said.
The government of Lumbini province has started innovation program based on areas such as educational system, economic development, governance style, infrastructure construction, service delivery, policy formulation and complaint management.
Secretary of the Chief Minister's Office, Kavindra Nepal, said that the innovation plan has been advanced to connect the state and local levels with economic development. He said that the plans that are being developed now are of a proud nature and special attention will be paid to their implementation.
