61-year-old Sukai Pasi of Shivraj Municipality-6, who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in the case of duty-bound killing, has been arrested after 23 years.
District Police Spokesperson Inspector Madhav Bishwakarma said that the accused, who was absconding after being found guilty by the court, was arrested from his home, produced before the court and sent to jail. He was sentenced to life imprisonment (20 years) by the District Court on 17 June 2054 on the charge of killing a 39-year-old Aitbari Kori who lived in that place.
Aitbari Kori's dead body was found on the bank of Surahi River on 4th of August 2005, tied with iron. Sukai and Aitbari were beaten two years before the murder over Gaza. Chandraram Kurmi and Prabhunath Pasi, who were accused of being involved in the
incident, were cleared by the Supreme Court on 21 March 063. In the case of Sukai Pasi, the decision of the district was upheld.
