In the contract signed last June, it is mentioned that the contract will come into effect from 4th of October . There has been 6 percent material progress in almost three months. According to engineer Kulshata Neupane, head of the Butwal-Gorusinge road work is accelerated, foundations of 10 bridges are ready

She also said that 35,000 curve stores to be placed on the side of the road to separate the road for footpaths and vehicles have been constructed and 10 km yard 'drain' construction has been completed.  The

project has been working by establishing a field office in Kapilvastu. In the first phase, the road from Butwal to Gorusinge section is being extended by 30 km to Rupandehi and 20 km to Kapilvastu. In the second phase, work will be done on the 19 km section from Gorusinge to Chandrauta. The work of retaining wall and culvert construction is also going on fast. 149 culverts and 6 under passes/over passes will be constructed. This road will be 50 meters wide in urban areas, 37 meters wide in suburban areas and 24 meters wide in forest areas. According to Jiges Prasad Chaudhary, site engineer of Kapilvastu project of

project, there will be 6 VOP under passes under 50 km road. He said that the four-lane road will go straight and the service lane will go back and forth through the underpass. Such underpasses will be built at Belbas, Naigaon, Tamnagar Chowk in Butwal. He said that the underpass will also be constructed at Murgia in Sainamaina and at the four number market of Kapilvastu. "Once the construction of the culvert is completed, the construction of the underpass will begin," he said, "after that, the work of the sky bridge will begin." He said that 12 underpasses and 11 sky bridges will be constructed for pedestrians.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone of the road expansion work through virtual media in the presence of Deputy Prime Ministers Prakashman Singh and Vishnu Paudel on January 11.

Engineer Neupane said that after the experience of dust flying during the expansion of the Butwal-Narayangadh road, the engineers had planned to demolish the old road only after all the work of the new road to be expanded on the Butwal Gorusinge road was completed. In the first phase, an agreement has been signed for 13 billion 55 million 95 million rupees to build a 50 km road from Butwal to Gorusinge. It will be constructed in the second phase in Gorusinge Chandrauta section of 19 km distance.
