One person has been arrested for killing a nilgai. The police arrested 52-year-old Farhan Khan, a resident of Shivraj Municipality 2, Harhwa.
At around 1 o'clock on Saturday night, after villagers heard the sound of gunshots in the sugarcane field of Sano Buthaniya village, Maharajganj municipality-6, two Nilgai were found dead when the team from the local Udaipur police station arrived.
District Police Chief Superintendent Niranjan Bhatt said that 6 rounds of bullets and 4 cartridges were recovered. Hilux vehicle bearing number Ba17ch 890, A Maruti van with the number UP32AK 3630, a motorcycle with the number LU50P 412 and a motorcycle with the number UP55R 6167 have been seized. 10/12 people went to play hunting, but after seeing the police, others escaped with the gun used to kill the nilgai. The arrested Khan has been handed over to Gautam Buddha Division Forest Office, Chandrauta.
