On the eve of International Workers' Day, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City has honored 30 working women. During a program on Wednesday, women who sell sal leaves, roast corn and drive e-rickshaws in Butwal were honored with 10,000 rupees.
Speaking at the event, Khelraj Pandey, the mayor of Butwal sub-metropolitan city, said that the Butwal sub-metropolitan city has started honoring the workers who work with risks regardless of hot sun, cold and day and night.
Pandey said that due to the lack of development of the practice of respecting labor, the unrest in the country has increased. Stating that Butwal sub-metropolitan city is on the side of workers, on the side of those who eat by working and on the side of farmers, he informed that the sub-metropolitan city is also providing various types of skill-based training to city dwellers who want to learn skills and become self-employed.
Deputy Chief Savitradevi Aryal promised that Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City will try to include workers from every sector to make them feel that the local government is with the working class. She said that it is necessary for other municipalities to do such work as well, she said that the country will become prosperous only if the practice of respecting labor is developed. Stating that the government closest to the people is the local government, Deputy Chief Aryal emphasized that the local government should pay attention to even the smallest things.
