The Ministry of Social Development has conducted capacity development training for 109 Deputy Heads and Deputy Heads of Lumbini Province on Tuesday to help them perform an effective role in the field of work.
Deputy Heads and Vice-Presidents from across the state participated in the training conducted in Lumbini, Rupandehi. Inaugurating the training, the Minister of Social Development Janmjay Timilsina informed that the training was organized to facilitate the legal complexities that they face when the deputy head and vice president of the municipality are also handling judicial responsibilities.
"With this, they have been taught how to work effectively in the case of women, children and senior citizens," he said, "mainly, they have been taught how to solve legal complications through legal practitioners."
Diwakar Bhandari, secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, said that through an introductory program between the Deputy Heads/Vice Presidents of the Municipalities, the ability of the participants is to be developed. "We have been taught how to choose suitable plans for women, children and senior citizens by staying within the limits of resources," he said. Also, they emphasized that such trainings should be conducted 2/3 times a year for the deputy head/vice president of the municipality.
