Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized on the need to inspire everyone to follow the path of peace preached by Mahatma Buddha in the current situation of increased conflict and hatred.
He said that the time has come to spread the path of non-violence and peace shown by Buddha throughout the world.
While inaugurating the 4th Asian Buddhist Cultural Festival in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, Prime Minister Oli expressed his belief that such programs will help make Lumbini a bigger center of international Buddhist philosophy and education.
Prime Minister Oli said, 'When the clouds of war are looming over the world, in order to wage war, to mobilize military power, advanced weapons have been developed that can be attacked from all places, water, land and sky. This has become a challenge for world peace,' he added, 'Dangerous weapons are being manufactured in the world, peace cannot be established through war and violence.'
Prime Minister Oli expressed his belief that the festival will convey a positive message in establishing world peace by promoting Asian Buddhist culture and heritage through Buddhism, art, literature, history, research and dialogue.
He drew the attention of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to arrange a suitable place for programs such as learning about Buddha's ideas, giving sermons, meditation and meditation in Lumbini.
Focusing on Buddhist culture, Chinese culture, art, traditional Buddhist medicine and Buddhist education, 40 papers will be presented at the festival. The
festival was attended by culture, tourism and civil aviation minister Badri Pandey, Lumbini state chief minister Chetnarayan Acharya and others.
