Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Chetnarayan Acharya has said that there is an opportunity to further strengthen the ancient cultural relations between Nepal and China.

Inaugurating the two-day international seminar on Nepal-China Buddhist culture and art in Lumbini on Saturday, Chief Minister Acharya said that there is an opportunity to further strengthen the ancient cultural relations between Nepal and China. 

Lumbini Buddhist University, Chinese Culture Promotion Society, Lumbini Development Fund and Sariputra Foundation jointly organized a two-day seminar in Lumbini from Saturday. He said that the seminar will further strengthen the cultural, religious and intellectual relations between Nepal and China.

'Lumbini is not only the jewel of Nepal, it is the source of world peace and Buddhist philosophy,' he said, 'Buddha has given the message of peace, brotherhood, non-violence, compassion and equality to the world from this land Lumbini.' Chief Minister Acharya said that efforts to write a new chapter of cultural, economic and intellectual cooperation by reviving the historical relationship between Nepal and China in a modern context is the need of the day. He expressed his belief that the seminar will reveal the depth of Buddhist philosophy, art and culture.

Appreciating China's economic development, Chief Minister Acharya said that Nepal can benefit greatly from cooperation with China in terms of economic progress, trade expansion and infrastructure development. He said that Chinese investment and technical support would be very useful to make Lumbini a center of world peace and Buddhist tourism.
