Establishment of Liaison Office of Nature Guides to increase tourism activities in Banke National Park

In order to increase tourist activities in Banke National Park and to make it easier for tourists to travel within the park, the contact office of Nature Guide Association has been established at Kohalpur in Banke.

There are currently 15 licensed nature guides in the central area to guide tourists. 15 nature guides have been prepared after 11 days of training on forest and wild animals and plants.

Banke National Park and ZSL have provided four binoculars to Nature Guide Association Banke. Bhim Bahadur Dagi, President of Nature Guide Association Banke, said that Nature Guides will play a key role in helping domestic and foreign visitors to tour the park in a safe manner and increase the publicity of the park. 

'How to welcome guests and how to promote the park is the main responsibility of the nature guide,' he said, 'It is important to create an environment where one visiting guest can bring others to visit.' Jeep safari, elephant safari have been organized to visit the park.  In the

park, an entry fee of 100 rupees per person for natives and 750 rupees for SAARC nationals and 1500 rupees for foreign nationals has been fixed.

Birendra Prasad Kandel, senior conservation officer of Banke National Park, said that wild animals can be seen easily in the park, and all checkpoints have been opened for jeep safaris in the park. With habitat management for wild animals, observation of wild animals such as tigers, chaukas, and wildebeests has become easier. Therefore, the park has established an office for the convenience of tourists, he said, "If all parties can focus on bringing in tourists, it is possible to link conservation to development." Khadka said . 

Recently, the citizens of the central region have been reducing their dependence on forests. As a result, the citizens of the middle region have started to join the income generation. 

Nature guides should enhance their abilities and establish themselves as ambassadors for the promotion of the park, said Ramkishore Yadav, manager of the Terai Bhuparidhi Project.

Sanjay Kandel, the head of ZSL Nepal Kohalpur office, said that they are providing technical assistance to the nature workers.

Consultant of Nature Guide Association Krishna Chaudhary said that if everyone increases the publicity that there is Banke National Park, there will be no shortage of tourists. The

event was attended by NTNC Bardia Chief Ajit Tumbahamfe, Ran Bam Gana Ganapati chief Senani Praveen Thapa, Chairman of Nature Guide and Intermediate Consumers Committee.

The number of tigers within the park has increased from four to twenty five. The number of food species has also increased  

Saying that they are working with tourism as the focal point, infrastructure such as scaffolding, grass-fields, artificial water ponds, and forest paths have been constructed to observe wildlife within the park. 

It is the youngest national park in the country, established in 2067 with the aim of protecting rare tigers.
