An inter-municipality open ward-level men's volleyball tournament has been conducted under the third President's Cup under the organization of Gulmi's Chandrakot Rural Municipality. 16 teams from five municipalities of two districts are competing in Shantipur from Thursday.
A total of 16 teams including 10 from Chandrakot Rural Municipality, 2 from Musikot Municipality, 1 from Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, 1 from Badigad Rural Municipality of Baglung and 2 from Bareng Rural Municipality are participating in the competition. Buddhaprakash Poudel, the chief administrative officer of the village, said that the first, second and third place winners in the
competition will be awarded trophies, medals and certificates along with cash of 70,000, 50,000 and 30,000 respectively. According to him, awards will also be given to the best players in various categories.
Paudel, the chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, said that the third President's Cup volleyball tournament will be conducted with a budget of 5.5 million. Gandaki Thapa, chairperson of Badigad rural municipality, believed that fair competition and friendship will be maintained with the development of sports. Drona Khatri, head of district coordination committee, Gulmi, said that there is more interest in the volleyball competition in the surrounding area including Chandrakot.
According to Yuvraj KC, President of Chandrakot Rural Municipality, President's Cup Volleyball Tournament was organized for the development of the sports sector.
