A house was burnt down in Nisdi rural municipality-1, Bankamalang of Palpa when the fire in the forest entered the settlement. Local Shalikram Pandey informed that the house of local Dil Bahadur Saru was burnt down after entering the burnt settlement in Bancharedanda forest area of Juredanda of Bankamlang.
The forest fire was blown by the wind and entered the thatched barn and it destroyed both the houses. According to police station Keladi Palpa, cows, buffaloes, 20 goats, grain leaves, vadakunda, and clothes were destroyed in the barn.
In the preliminary investigation of the police, there has been a loss worth 2.5 million. Along with Saru's house, there are two more houses and they were protected from damage.
When the local residents went to put out the forest fire to prevent it from coming to the settlement, the wind ignited the fire in Saru's shed. Local residents said that the fire started from Bancharedanda forest area on Tuesday afternoon.
Pandey said that the Pachhutepan Mullan Samaj (BASE) Nepal has donated 5,000 for the immediate relief of the fire victim Saru. A fire has also broken out in the forest area of Koldanda, Tinau rural municipality-5 of the district.
