Repair and diversion construction work is being done at the place where a dry landslide occurred in Daune located in Vinayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of East Nawalparasi under the East-West Highway.
During the Butwal-Narayangadh road expansion, the landslide occurred during the work of cutting the hill and erecting the wall. Yadav Dhakal, Police Superintendent of East Nawalparasi, said that by closing the traffic on both sides, a diversion is being done by cutting the hill to the north of the landslide area.
Cargo carriers and large vehicles operating in this section have been stopped at Dumkibas to the east and Bardghat to the west. After the road was closed, there was a traffic jam in Daunne. Passengers who were affected by mud when it rains and dust when the sun shines, now have more suffering after the dry landslides.
