One person died in a jeep accident on Sunday evening at Maleng Beldanda of Bagnaskali Rural Municipality-4, Khanichap. Five passengers were injured.
According to the police, 17-year-old Eliza Saru of Kaligand rural municipality-3 Vaigha died on the spot in the accident that took place from Tansen while going to Khanichhap via Chappani Kharekhola. Local residents have informed that Saru died after the jeep overturned on the uphill road and fell on the road without stopping.
According to the police, among the injured in the accident of jeep No. 1 J 1724 which left from Tansen for Khanichhap Valebas, one of the passengers sustained a serious head injury and the condition of the other injured is normal. Locals said that the injured were sent to a hospital in Tansen for treatment. The accident took place on an inner unpaved road 24 km from Tansen. The police suspect that the accident occurred because the regular access road was being sloped, so they used an alternative road and did not find a roundabout. According to the police, further investigation is underway regarding the accident.
