By the end of March, nearly 40 percent of the budget was spent on Lumbini

Lumbini state government has spent 39.74 percent of the budget in the third quarter of the current year i.e. at the end of March. Last year, the government had spent 34.30 percent of the budget by the end of March. In the current year, the government has increased the percentage of capital expenditure.

The government had spent 31 percent by the end of February. About 9 percent was spent in the month of March only. At the end of the third quarter of last year, the government spent only 32.98 percent of capital expenditure, but in the current year, it has spent 38.56 percent by March. The government has claimed to spend nearly 75 percent of the capital budget in the current year.

In the last one month, 7 percent has been spent on operational and 9 percent on capital. The government had spent 34.57 percent on operational and 29.82 percent on capital by the end of February.

The Lumbini state government had brought a budget of 38 billion 97 crores for the current year. Out of that, 15 billion 48 crore 69 lakh rupees have been spent in 9 months . On the capital side, 9 billion 47 million 96 million rupees have been spent out of the budget of 24 billion 58 million 59 million. Similarly, 6.72 billion rupees have been spent out of the current budget of 14.38 billion 41 million rupees. Deepak Gyawali, Head of Fund and Accounting Control Office said that 41.76 percent of the amount was spent on current and 38.56 percent on capital.

9 months spent ministry statement 

There are 10 ministries in Lumbini. Among them, the Ministry of Health has spent the most of the total budget. The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has the lowest. Due to the abolition of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, the expenditure is low. The Ministry of Health has spent 63.62 percent. 3.13 percent of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has been spent.

Chief Minister and Cabinet Office has spent 19.79 percent of the total budget. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has spent 43.93 percent, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport has spent 21.69 percent. The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation spent 34.15 percent, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management 38.65 percent, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law 15.66 percent, the Ministry of Forestry and Environment 34.13 percent, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure 37.69 percent, the Ministry of Water Supply, Rural and Urban Development 39.71 percent, and the Ministry of Social Development 30.17 percent, according to the Fund and Accounts Control Office.

Spokesperson of the government and Minister of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives Dinesh Panthi said that the government is working on big plans faster than last year. "We are working to complete the big plans as much as possible this year," he said, "the government is trying to spend more than 75 percent of the capital amount in the current year." He said that even though some small plans of the government have been cut, the speed and results of the government's work will be seen when the big projects are completed.
