The 5-day Rumindei Mai Chaite Purnima Mela at Buddhasthal Lumbini on Ram Navami ended on Tuesday. Pilgrims come to visit Rumindei Mai in the fair to bring family happiness, peace, prosperity and fulfillment of wishes.
'Mayadevi temple was called Rumindei Mai 40/50 years ago, according to local Lilamani Sharma, there was a crowd of people visiting the temple after worshiping here because it was believed that one's wishes would be fulfilled if one visited it on Chaite Purnima.
There is also a tradition that women do not dance in their sari during the fair so that their children do not suffer. It is called Achara Naach. At the
fair, there were also devotees who got tattoos. A cultural program was held on 5 days. In the fair, children's mundan (first haircut) was also done. While shaving his hair, devotees prayed to Rumindei Mai for good health and long life.
