With the aim of promoting Raithane food and the tourist area of Mallarani, there is a food festival in Mallarani every New Year.
The coordinator of the 3rd Mallarani Food Festival, Bharat Kumar Shrestha, said that the food festival was organized at Mallarani, a tourist place, with the activity of Pyuthan headquarters Khalanga and other nearby communities, which has a majority of Newar community.
The festival is being organized by Pyuthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mallarani market area. This year, the fair will be organized for three days. "The main attraction in the food festival is the local Raithane food," Shrestha said, "Food stalls of Newari, Magar, Gurung and other castes are kept in the food festival." Sarai dance, Maruni dance, panchebaza, bhailo dance are also shown in the
festival. Jagannath Shrestha, President of Mallarani Bazar Area, President of Mallarani Market Association of Hoteliers, said that Newari food, local chicken and lamb dishes and dishes made during local festivals will be served at the food festival.
Domestic tourists say that after reaching Mallarani at a height of 1655 meters, it gets cool even in summer. Tank Thapa of Bijuwar, who was present at the food festival, said that the food festival added a special charm to the cold weather. From here you can observe the Jhimruk valley. It is estimated that 10,000 domestic tourists visit Mallarani every year on the occasion of New Year.
