On Baisakh 5, 180 Buddhists will arrive in Bhairahawa on a charter plane from Vietnam. Ramesh Parajuli, Managing Director of Rupsey Holidays in Kathmandu, said that 180 tourists from the Vietnam Airlines plane landed directly at the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.

"We are conducting a direct charter flight from Vietnam to Lumbini for the first time," Parajuli said, "This charter flight is going to be organized for the purpose of promoting religious and cultural tourism between Vietnam and Nepal."

Tourists landing at Bhairahawa will attend a special puja to be held at Lumbini on Friday. They will travel to Banaras, India by road from Lumbini on 6th Baisakh. Parajuli says that the charter plane that brought them to Bhairahawa will return to Vietnam empty from Bhairahawa. In the second phase, Rupsey Holidays is conducting two charter flights from Vietnam to Kathmandu. Parajuli said that these flights will take place on May 2 and 12.

RUPSE has previously operated many tourist charter flights in Vietnam-Kathmandu.
