In 6 districts of Terai under Lumbini province, the effectiveness of community, partnership and Chakla forests, which are protected and managed based on the promotion system, has been monitored. Forests protected in 6 districts have been monitored under the leadership of the Ministry of Forestry and Environment of the province. During this, the participants emphasized that consumers and stakeholders should be informed about forest management based on promotion system.
A three-day monitoring was started from March 26 in Bardia, Banke, Dang, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and West Nawalparasi. Forest Minister Devkaran Kalwar, Secretary of the Ministry, Chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry and Environment Committee of the Provincial Assembly Bishwaprem Pathak and other members and stakeholders participated in the monitoring.
Mohanraj Kafle, Secretary of the Ministry of Forests and Environment informed that the activities of community, partnership forest user groups and forest division and Chakla forest management activities managed by themselves have been monitored . He said, 'Monitoring is done to understand the effectiveness of the forest managed and protected by the promotion system and to interact with the consumers.' After the government issued a scientific forest management procedure, forest management based on this system was started. It was started from Tilaurakot Partnership Forest of Kapilvastu in the state . Secretary Kafle said, "Despite various challenges, the procedure was canceled in 2077 while advancing scientific forest management". After the country went to federalism, the program was moved forward again according to the laws, regulations and standards during the creation of laws in the forest sector.
According to the ministry, currently 365 community, 8 partnership and 2 chakla forests are being managed according to the promotion system. Minister Kalwar, who participated in the monitoring, said that the forest management is good because the extension system is scientific. He said, ``Growing new plants, taking care of them and managing them after a certain period seemed scientific. However, attention should also be paid to the distribution of benefits from forest protection.' He said that the construction of reservoirs necessary for wildlife is necessary.' He said, 'Since this system is scientific and technical, it is necessary to orient the stakeholders.' Yagyamurthy Khanal, Acting Director General of the Provincial Forest Directorate, said that after planting new trees in the forest area, the cycle of Godmel, pruning, growing and cutting after reaching age is called the promotion system. He said, 'Forest management based on promotion system is the system that can get sustainable production by continuously conducting such activities.' He said, "In many forest areas, there are only old and old trees, new trees are not visible." In such places, replacing old trees and growing new and useful trees can be done through the enhancement system.
