Seven passengers were injured in a bus accident in Bardiya Baghaiyatal Rural Municipality-8 Pashupatibazar. Bus No. Lu 1 B 9876 going from Butwal to Rajapur met with an accident on Tuesday. Six of the injured were taken to a teaching hospital in Nepalgunj for treatment, police said.
In the accident, 30-year-old Shivkumar Kralep of Piprahwa police station, Bharat Bahraich district, Rupa Pariyar, 28, of Badhaiyatal-8 Munalbasti, 30-year-old Ishwar Tharu of Rajapur Municipality-6, 20-year-old Ishwar Tharu of Gulria Municipality-12, 26-year-old Sajan Nau, four-year-old Ansh Tharu of Badhaiyatal-8 Munalbasti and Anita Tharu were injured. They were sent to Nepalgunj for treatment, said District Police Office, Bardia Information Officer and DSP Rishiram Ghartimagar.
Similarly, 64-year-old Kashiram Pokhrel of Arghakhanchi District Malarani-3 was discharged after treatment at Gularia District Hospital.
The police said that the accident happened due to brake failure. DSP Ghartimagar said that 38-year-old Rajkumar Ghale of Butwal Municipality-6, the driver of the bus, was taken into custody and action taken.
