The Lumbini state government has issued instructions to identify the people who started the fires and bring them under the legal framework, taking the increasing incidents of forest fires seriously.

The Chief District Officers of 12 districts have been issued a circular through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, and have instructed them to bring people who set fires under the legal ambit due to the increased risk of fire in human settlements due to fires.
In various districts of the province, the incidents of fires and fires in wheat crops are continuously increasing. Wildfires and fires have a great impact on people, plants, wildlife and the environment. Baburam Adhikari, Chief Secretary of Lumbini Province informed that they have been instructed to identify the people involved in the fire incident and bring them under the legal ambit.

According to the Forest Act, 2076, in case of setting fire to a national forest, there is a provision to punish all damages caused by it, imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of up to 60 thousand rupees or both.
