It has been confirmed that a missing person has died in Gulmi after the dead person's head was chased by a dog.
Gulmidarbar Rural Municipality Ward No. 6 Belpokhara, on Monday, a dog bit the head of a dead person in the mouth.
Local public representative Sundar Kunwar informed the police after seeing the dog tearing off the man's head. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer of District Police Office Gulmi informed that the police reached the spot after receiving the news.
According to the police, the dead person has been identified as 55-year-old Ratan Shahi of ward number 6. He had been missing from the village for more than two and a half months. The dog had torn the skeleton of Shahi's head in its mouth.
On Tuesday, after a search operation by locals and the police, the clothes he was wearing were found in the community forest of Kalika along with other skeletons of his body.
There was no one in the family of deceased Ratan Shahi . He was living alone. Mukesh Thapa, Ward President of Gulmeedarbar Rural Municipality Ward No. 6, said that the death may have occurred after he fell while going to cut grass.
Ward president Thapa said that the skeleton found was identified as Shahi's and confirmed by the clothes he was wearing and the neighboring brothers.
A team of 7 people under the leadership of Inspector Bhupendra Thapa of District Police Office Gulmi has been deployed at the incident site. The police said that further investigation is being done on the incident.
