Lumbini State Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya has said that Panini Tapobhumi, the birthplace of Sanskrit grammar, should be publicized and made known to the world. He said that international tourists should be brought in to study and meditate on Panini.
Acharya said that the provincial government is going to hold a two-day national level Panini Tapobhoomi conference to convey to the world the importance of this Tapobhoomi, where sage Panini composed Sanskrit grammar after doing penance in the Panina forest of Panini Rural Municipality-1 and 2 in Lahore, Pakistan. The conference to be inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the importance and dignity of Panini will increase.
While inspecting Tapobhumi on Saturday, Chief Minister Acharya said that the conference will make a significant contribution to make this area known to the world through proper management and publicity of Panini Tapobhumi, which is important from a religious, cultural and tourist point of view. He expressed his belief that the
conference will help to make plans for Panini's development . He said that the more publicity is done, the more tourism, Sanskrit scholars and religious people can be brought in. During the preparation of the
conference, he expressed interest in aspects related to security arrangements, transportation, housing, drinking water, sanitation, guest reception and program management and instructed the relevant agencies for effective implementation.
The aim of the conference is to identify the homeland of Panini, the father of Sanskrit grammar, religious, cultural, touristic development and comprehensiveness of that area. It is the birthplace of Sanskrit grammar and is a suitable place for meditation in a peaceful, pleasant environment. There are snow ranges, cold climate, beautiful scenery.
