Ghanshyam Giri, Chairman of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality of Nawalparasi, was attacked by a local youth.
Local Sudeep Acharya assaulted Chairman Giri who got down from the vehicle in the village office complex on Friday morning and is absconding.
Acharya Binayi is the President of Yuva Sangh near UML in Triveni Rural Municipality. The police said that they got the information that Acharya, the president of Yuva Sangh, who was sitting with a helmet, was attacked as soon as he went down to the village head office.
DSP Madhu Nepal of the District Police Office said that the search is on for Acharya, who absconded. Nepal informed that they have informed all the police units and ordered to arrest Acharya.
I don't know why I was attacked. Now the police will know after the investigation' said Giri, the chairman of the rural municipality.
President Giri said that he was not aware of the attack, but according to the locals, he did it because of a disagreement in the contract. Village chairman Giri was also elected from UML.
